Bringing CLARITY to Educational Psychology Assessments

In a world where statutory assessments can feel overwhelming for families, settings, and professionals alike, clarity isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. That’s why I created the CLARITY Framework: a 9-step model designed to streamline the assessment process without compromising on quality, accessibility, or kindness.

Why CLARITY?

The name says it all. CLARITY stands for:

C – Consultation & Booking

L – Literature Review

A – Assessment Prep

R – Review Strengths & Needs

I – Interaction/Observation

T – Thorough Editing

Y – Yield & Finalise

Each step reflects the real-world workflow of Educational Psychologists, ensuring that nothing is missed, and everything has purpose.

Designed for Impact

The CLARITY Framework was born out of my transition from Local Authority work to building Loom Psychology, a virtual-first service with a passion for early years and trauma-informed practice. I needed a system that could:

  • Deliver assessments quickly, even within 24 hours

  • Maintain the highest professional standards

  • Empower assistants and associates to contribute meaningfully

  • Keep the child’s voice and needs at the heart of the process

  • Be scalable, feedback-driven, and emotionally intelligent

How It Works

CLARITY supports our team from start to finish:

  • Consultation & Booking: Sets clear expectations and builds a positive, supportive start to the process.

  • Literature Review: Enables assistants to review key documents so EPs can focus on direct work.

  • Interaction/Observation: Where we meet the child, understand their world, and gather insight.

  • Yield & Finalise: We pull everything together into a thoughtful, accessible report that guides the next steps.

Scaling with Kindness

CLARITY helps us reach more children, more efficiently and with compassion. It’s part of our wider mission to make psychological advice more accessible and to support 1,000,000 children by 2045.

Whether we’re working with local authorities, paediatric clinics, or international partners, the framework helps us stay true to our values: kindness, clarity, trust, and impact.
