Early Years (Pre-School to Reception age)

We would like to arrange a virtual observation which forms part of the EHCP application.

PART 1 - VIRTUAL OBSERVATION (30 Minutes)

The observation involves a member of staff following the child within the setting using a mobile device such as an iPad, iPhone or Laptop using Facetime, Whatsapp Video or MS Teams.

We will be looking for:
- How the child communicates and interacts with others.
- What their interests are.
- How they play and respond to adult direction.

The final stage is is completed with a virtual consultation.

PART 2 - VIRTUAL CONSULTATION (75 Minutes)

The consultation is a conversation between the Loom Educational Psychologist, parent(s)/carer(s) and setting representative(s). It will clarify the child’s needs, set outcomes and review any proposed support.

Once the meeting is complete, Loom Psychology submits their report to the local authority which supports part of the EHCP application.
